The Kite Runner

Just finished reading The Kite Runner.

I think I got a rather vivid image of Afghanistan now, as depicted from the writer's descriptions. I really pity Hassan, his sacrifice, and how he died- just happened so swift, without preperation, without even meeting back his old friend, Amir.

"For you a thousand times over!" This is what Hassan told Amir when running the kite for him.

For you a thousand times over.

Hassan is not only Amir's friend after all- he's his brother. They shared the same blood. Sohrab's muteness that carried way towards the end of the story somehow left an unfilled hole.

In short, this is a very good book, enchanting, unforgettable...

Next: The World Without Us.
